Testing your Telus connection

Telus sells PureFibre, a fibre-to-the-home service, mainly in British Columbia and Alberta and in a growing number of Ontario and Quebec cities. Most PureFibre plans are symmetrical; the 1.5 Gbps plan advertises about 940 Mbps to 1 Gbps of upload. Plans come with unlimited data.

This test detects your provider automatically and measures download, upload, ping, jitter and latency under load against the nearest server on Cloudflare's network. Enter your plan speed under the result to see the percentage you really get.

Tiers and upload speeds vary by province; check your plan in the My Telus app. Checked on 31 October 2026; tiers change and vary by address, so confirm on the Telus website.

What result should you expect?

With a gigabit port, a wired test should show about 900 to 940 Mbps both ways on a 1 Gig or faster plan. Multi-gig plans need a 2.5 or 10 Gbps port to show their full speed.

Common reasons for slow Telus speeds

Before contacting Telus support

  1. Restart the Telus router (and the fibre box if separate).
  2. Run wired tests and note both directions.
  3. Check service status in the My Telus app.
  4. If speeds stay below your plan, check for traffic throttling, then contact support with your saved results.
